This is a an easy cassava bread recipe to try if you’re just getting into baking and breadmaking. This bread comes together with just five ingredients.

If you're looking for an easy alternative to plain white, homemade bread this Cassava Bread is definitely a recipe to try.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Lotus Cassava & Wheat Flour
  • 1 1/3 cups warm water
  • 2 tsp yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable shortening at room temperature

Instructions

  • Add water, yeast and salt in a bowl then combine with a whisk.
  • Add Lotus Cassava & Wheat Flour then mix until all the ingredients are well combined.
  • Transfer dough to your work surface then knead for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Flatten dough then spread vegetable shortening onto dough. Combine until fully incorporated.
  • Knead dough for an additional five minutes until smooth.
  • Place in a bowl then cover and allow to rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubles in size.
  • Remove dough from bowl and shape into a loaf.
  • Place on a baking tray with parchment paper then cover and allow to rise for an additional 25 minutes or until doubled in size.
  • Add a tray with boiling water to the bottom of your preheated oven at 350 degrees.
  • Place baking tray into oven and bake for approximately 30 minutes.
  • Place baked loaf onto a cooling rack and allow to cool for at least 15 minutes.
  • Enjoy!
