Cassava Bread

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Lotus Cassava & Wheat Flour
  • 1 1/3 cups warm water
  • 2 tsp yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable shortening at room temperature

Instructions

  • Add water, yeast and salt in a bowl then combine with a whisk.
  • Add Lotus Cassava & Wheat Flour then mix until all the ingredients are well combined.
  • Transfer dough to your work surface then knead for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Flatten dough then spread vegetable shortening onto dough. Combine until fully incorporated.
  • Knead dough for an additional five minutes until smooth.
  • Place in a bowl then cover and allow to rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubles in size.
  • Remove dough from bowl and shape into a loaf.
  • Place on a baking tray with parchment paper then cover and allow to rise for an additional 25 minutes or until doubled in size.
  • Add a tray with boiling water to the bottom of your preheated oven at 350 degrees.
  • Place baking tray into oven and bake for approximately 30 minutes.
  • Place baked loaf onto a cooling rack and allow to cool for at least 15 minutes.
