Rustic French Fries
Ingredients
3 large potatoes washed
1 tbsp baking soda
6 cups water
750 ml canola oil
2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp roasted geera
Method:
Cut fries to desired size and set aside in a bowl of water
Bring 6 cups of water to a rolling boil
Add baking soda then add potato and boil for 3 to 4 minutes
Remove from water and allow to cool on a rack or tray (you can place them in the freezer as well)
Combine salt, black pepper, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder and roasted geera in a bowl then set aside
Bring oil up to temperature (350 degrees)Â in a deep frying pan
Fry fries for 4 to 5 minutes or until golden brown
Drain excess oil then place in a bowl lined with paper towels
Sprinkle seasoning on fries while still hot and toss
