Lamb burgers are a decadent upgrade to to your quinessential beef or chicken burger. The succulent, gamey and herbaceous lamb meat pairs perfectly with flavourful geera and fresh parsley. Lamb Burger Ingredients
- 1 pound of ground lamb meat
- 1 tsp of cumin/geera seeds, toasted and crushed
- 3 tsp of salt
- 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley
- 1 tsp of black pepper
- 2 tsp of garlic powder
- 2 tsp of minced garlic
For serving:
4 burger buns
Suggested toppings:
Lettuce, tomato, feta cheese, sliced red onion
Method:
- In a large bowl, mix all ingredients until evenly combined.
- Divide into four portions.
- Form four patties out of the mixture.
- Heat a grill pan or barbeque grill over medium flame.
- Place each patty on the grill and allow to cook for 5 minutes on each side. Do not press down on each patty is this will allow the juices to run.
- Remove from heat and allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
- Slice each bun in half and toast face down.
- Build the burger with a patty, toppings and tzatziki style yogurt sauce.
Tzatziki – Style Yogurt Sauce
- 1 cup of Greek yogurt
- 2 tsp of chopped fresh mint
- 2 tsp of chopped parsley
- 1 tsp of salt
- 2 tsp of fresh lime juice
- 1 tsp of lime zest
Method:
- Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl.
- Serve as a condiment to the burgers.
Chickpea Salad
- Â 1 tin of Cuisine Chickpeas
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 1 cucumber, diced
- 1 tbsp of diced red onion
- 1 tbsp of parsley chopped
- 1 tbsp of chopped mint
- 2 tsp of lime just
- Salt, to taste
Method:
- Strain and rinse the chickpeas and transfer into a medium bowl.
- Toss with remaining ingredients.
