In this written recipe I am combining the two methods and giving you the best of both worlds in this Stew Beef Steak recipe. If you love steaks, this is definitely one to try!

The steps behind preparing a good steak are more or less consistent in the culinary world. Season with salt & black pepper, cook in a cast iron skillet with garlic cloves, butter and thyme or rosemary. This recipe takes a slightly different approach to seasoning and serving the steaks. The aim is to give them the flavor profile of a delicious Trini stew beef but using “traditional” methods.

For this kitchen experiment I did the regular salt & black pepper seasoning for one steak. Then I created a stew sauce to serve it with to mimic the stew beef experience. The other method was to prepare a stew beef spice rub then cook the steak as you would normally. I found that the stew beef spice rub on the steak resulted in a way more flavorful beef. While the stew sauce provided a delicious gravy.
