Citrus Glazed Banana Bread
Ingredients – Banana Bread
- 3/4 cupwhite sugar
- ½cup butter, melted
- 2eggs
- 1 teaspoon Angostura orange bitters
- 1 ½cups all-purpose flour
- 1teaspoon baking soda
- ½teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon orange zest, fresh or dried (optional)
- ½cup sour cream
- ½cup chopped walnuts
- 2medium bananas, mashed
Ingredients – Citrus Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 1 teaspoon Angosturs orange butters
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 1/8 teaspoon of salt
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and line 9×5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper
- Stir sugar and melted butter together in a large bowl. Add eggs and Angostura orange bitters; mix well.
- Combine flour, orange zest, baking soda, and salt; stir into butter mixture until smooth. Fold in banana slices, sour cream, and walnuts; transfer into the prepared pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean, about 1 hour. Cool completely, remove from pan, drizzle with glaze and serve.
- For orange glaze, combine all ingredients mix well, add additional orange juice if necessary to get to a consistency where it can drizzle.
