Who doesn’t love Guinness & BBQ? Well in this recipe I combine the two worlds to create cross cut beef short ribs in a Guinness BBQ Sauce. This sauce is great on beef but will also work just as well on chicken, fish, pork, goat or lamb. Fire up the grill this weekend and enjoy this Guinness BBQ sauce along with a few bottle or pints of Guinness! Sláinte!
Guinness BBQ Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 bottles of Guinness
- 1/2 cup honey or brown sugar
- 2 tbsp smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp ground clove
- 2 bay leaves
- 4 tbsp tomato paste
- salt & black pepper to taste
Directions
- Combine ingredients in a bowl
- Transfer to a pot then bring to a boil on medium/high heat
- Lower heat then simmer for 30 minutes until thick
Oven BBQ Cross Cut Beef Short Ribs
Ingredients
- 12 beef ribs
- 3 tbsp mustard powder
- 2 tbsp garlic powder
- salt & black pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Directions
- Pat ribs dry with a paper towel
- Combine ingredients then rub ribs until all pieces are well coated
- Place into a baking dish then cover with foil
- Place in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for one hour
- Remove foil from ribs then coat in Guinness BBQ Sauce
- Increase oven temperature to 400 degrees
- Place beef ribs under broiler for 5Â to 7 minutes
- Use a pair of thongs to turn them midway during the cooking process
- Serve warm, enjoy!
