Ingredients

Banana Bread

  • ¾ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup butter melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp Angostura orange bitters
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp orange zest fresh or dried (optional)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 medium bananas mashed

Citrus Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon Angosturs orange butters
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • ⅛ teaspoon of salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Grease and line 9x5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper
  • Stir sugar and melted butter together in a large bowl.
  • Add eggs and Angostura orange bitters; mix well.
  • Combine flour, orange zest, baking soda, and salt; stir into butter mixture until smooth.
  • Fold in banana slices, sour cream, and walnuts; transfer into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean, about 1 hour.
  • Cool completely, remove from pan, drizzle with glaze and serve.
  • For orange glaze, combine all ingredients mix well, add additional orange juice if necessary to get to a consistency where it can drizzle.
