Feel free to choose your own adventure and with the seasonings and spices that you want to add to personalize this nutritious snack. Trust us, this recipe is just as easy as opening a jar of store bought salsa, but you get to take all the credit.

Baked Plantain Chips w Tomato Salsa

Try these easy baked plantain chips as a healthier alternative to store-bought snacks. Personalize them with your favorite spices.

Ingredients

Oven Baked Plantain Chips

  • Ingredients:
  • 2 large plantains
  • 2 tablespoons of Cuisine Soyabean Oil
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon of black pepper
  • Optional chip seasoning suggestions: onion powder garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper.

Fresh Tomato Salsa

  • 6 tomatoes diced
  • ½ bell pepper/ jalenpeño diced
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 shadon leaves chopped
  • 1 chili pepper minced or 1 tsp of pepper sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of lime/lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

Instructions

Oven Baked Plantain Chips:

  • Preheat oven to 400F
  • Peel and thinly slice the plantains
  • Toss in oil and salt
  • Evenly spread the sliced plantains onto a baking sheet prepared with wax paper
  • Place in oven for 10 minutes

Fresh Tomato Salsa:

  • Toss all ingredients together
  • Serve with chips
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator
