Ingredients

Flour Tortillas Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • ½ cup hot water
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp vegetable shortening
  • 1 tsp salt

Tuna Salad Ingredients

  • 2 tins tuna chunks drained
  • ½ cup black olives chopped
  • 1 bundle celery finely chopped
  • 1 purple onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 2 cups grated carrot
  • 1 cucumber diced
  • 1 bundle watercress
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • salt & black pepper to taste

Instructions

Flour Tortillas Directions

  • Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
  • Add vegetable shortening and hot water then combine until a dough is formed.
  • Transfer dough on to a floured surface then knead until it becomes a smooth dough.
  • Allow to rest for 20 minutes before shaping into golf sized dough balls.
  • Place dough balls on a floured surface then roll them out until approximately 8-10 inches in diameter.
  • Place into a hot frying pan or tawah, cook on one side until bubbles start to form (approximately 45 seconds).
  • Carefully flip the wrap and allow to cook for approximately 45 seconds.
  • Place finished wraps in a cloth or in foil and allow to steam.

Tuna Salad Directions

  • Combine all ingredients with the exception of the watercress in a bowl.
  • Fill wraps with tuna salad then top with watercress.
  • Wrap tightly then stick with toothpicks and cut in half to serve.
  • Enjoy!
