SEAFOOD BUFFET @ HYATT

I was thankful for the opportunity to check out “Seafood Delights”, a themed dinner that happens on the last Friday of every month at The Waterfront Restaurant. This was my first dining experience at The Waterfront Restaurant in Hyatt Trinidad and what my experience lacked due to my inability to eat shellfish, I made up for in good company and conversation. After all, dinner isn’t just about the food right? But the food though!

Unfortunately I couldn’t try everything but the items I could try were all delicious and there was a unanimous thumbs-up around the table for all the other seafood offerings.

The baked Corvina was an attention grabber in presentation and some might say that contrasts its flavor but I really appreciated the subtlety of this fleshy and flaky fish. The preparation celebrated its mildness and I really got to taste and appreciate the meat.

If you wanted a bolder fish experience, some well seasoned King Fish bites were present to satisfy that need.

Mini fry bakes and supporting condiments to accompany that fried King Fish.

Now, excuse me while I purposefully gloss over the things I can’t eat #toting #meontheoutsidelookingin

Shrimp Cocktail

Oysters

Mussels

There was quite the impressive spread, laid out buffet style of course, that made up supporting cast.

Of course, all this wonderful food was made possible by the talented cooks and chefs in the kitchen. I can’t call these “Behind The Scenes” shots because they were front and center. I love the layout of the space as it gave me the opportunity to enjoy watching the activity in the engine room.

Of course, wine on deck for perfect pairing options.

And a dessert spread to satisfy your sweet tooth.
