I try to go to the market as often as possible, preferably on a Saturday morning because that’s when the coconut vendor that I buy nuts from comes out. I actually enjoy going to the market, I don’t see it as a chore or a hassle but a relaxing outing where I get to interact with the vendors, meet people and buy fresh ingredients for recipes. Some might say its weird but I would choose going to the market over a lime on the Avenue in a bar or going to the movies or worse yet, a club. Market runs are my kinda lime and for those who may be interested in saving a few dollars on their grocery bill, I decided to do this post where I highlight the prices of some of the items available for purchase.
Currently pumpkin is the cheapest thing in the market. At $1 per pound you can purchase a lot of pumpkin and try your hand at various recipes, we have quite a few here on the website.
Here at Eatahfood we believe in upholding this tradition of the Saturday and Sunday morning market run as part of the weekly routine, especially for young families who are looking for ways to save a dollar and manage the household budget.
