Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 5 oz unsalted butter
  • 2 cups of Cuisine Genuine Demerara Brown Sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • ¾ cup Cuisine All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp salt

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Prepare a 9 inch by 13 inch baking pan with wax paper and spray with non-stick spray.
  2. Combine butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl.
  3. Place the chocolate and butter into the microwave and gently melt is 30 second intervals, stirring in between each interval. This should take two intervals depending on the heat level of the microwave
  4. Once totally melted, set aside the butter and chocolate to cool to room temperature.
  5. In a separate bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the eggs and brown sugar together on high speed, until the eggs are foamy and pale in colour. This should take about 5 minutes.
  6. Gently the chocolate into the egg mixture until almost completely homogenous. Sift the flour and salt into the mixture while continuing the gentle folding technique.
  7. Once the batter is completely homogenous, pour the batter in to the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
