Rustic French Fries

You;re just a few key steps away from the perfect rustic french fries made in the comfort of your own house. This recipe uses the most basic ingredients to deliver a homestyle twist on a classic item.


Rustic French Fries

Ingredients

  • 3 large potatoes washed
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • 6 cups water
  • 750 ml canola oil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp roasted geera

Method:

  1. Cut fries to desired size and set aside in a bowl of water
  2. Bring 6 cups of water to a rolling boil
  3. Add baking soda then add potato and boil for 3 to 4 minutes
  4. Remove from water and allow to cool on a rack or tray (you can place them in the freezer as well)
  5. Combine salt, black pepper, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder and roasted geera in a bowl then set aside
  6. Bring oil up to temperature (350 degrees)  in a deep frying pan
  7. Fry fries for 4 to 5 minutes or until golden brown
  8. Drain excess oil then place in a bowl lined with paper towels
  9. Sprinkle seasoning on fries while still hot and toss
  10. Serve & Enjoy
