Homemade Pita Chips

This is so easy to make and so versatile you may never buy pita chips again. The next time you’re having a lime or a family get together and thinking about serving some chip and dip, this is the perfect thing to try and it can be tweaked to your liking in countless ways.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp fine thyme
  • 2 tbsp rosemary finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika

Method:

  1. Combine dry ingredients
  2. Add olive oil and mix until all the flour is coated with the oil.
  3. Add water and mix until fully combined
  4. Knead until it forms a smooth dough then let it rest for 5 minutes.
  5. Divide dough into equal parts
  6. Roll it out as thin as possible.
  7. Place on a baking tray then cut into desired shapes
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 400 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes
  9. Allow chips to cool before placing them in a basket or container so that they maintain their crispiness
  10. Enjoy with your favorite dip
