EAF @ KRAVE 2nd ANNIVERSARY

The first time we went to KRAVE, there was a lot of talk about offering different experiences; Promises of always innovating so there will always be something new to enjoy. Promises of exceptional service and great food. Well…

After the launch of a new lunch menu…

The arrival of the must try Modern Chic Breakfast…

The creation of a Breakfast Hot Dog…

This is just another shot of that K9 Breakfast Hot Dog for dramatic effect and appetite appeal, but as we were saying…

A series of relevant themed brunches like the Oktoberfest Celebration…

And a constantly evolving list of innovative drinks, all going steady for 2 years, it seems safe to say the KRAVE family speaketh de truth and they are holding true to their words!

That’s why we didn’t need much convincing to be present for the first event of the KRAVE 2nd Anniversary Celebrations; A brunch called A Taste of The Americas that started with complimentary sips. And yuh know when a brunch begins with somebody offering you a stemmed glass of something chilly on the house, a good time is definitely going to be had.

If you’re familiar with EAF content, you should know by now what time it is with the KRAVE Breakfast Station. But in case you’re new to these parts of the web, the KRAVE Breakfast Station is a pretty impressive thing.

Fresh waffles, hot off de press. Warning, they are on the large side. Go brave. Go strong.

And eggs your style with a host of ingredients to add.

Confession: The salads usually get glossed over in these entries. It’s kinda unfortunate, because they always bring out some pretty cool combinations.

Take this 3 Bean Salad topped with Tortilla Strips for example. Relevant to the theme.

You can always expect a Sushi Roll or two at a KRAVE event. A veggie option like this String Bean and Brocollini Roll.

And you will most likely find an unusual (but interestingly delicious) experiment like this Shark Roll topped with Plantain.

One of the benefits of brunches like these is the opportunity to try new things. This was a first encounter with Feijoada, a Portuguese stew with Beef and Black Beans. Would have said will try again, but that might be a little misleading since seconds were already had.

The Carving Station is always a meat lover’s paradise. This time, they offered a Cuban Styled Pork Leg. Tasty. But the real star of that show was the Chimichurri.

Few things get more attention than a Chef walking out of a kitchen holding a large platter with a whole fish on it. Black Grouper in Banana Leaf to be exact.

Chicken Sancoche and Vegetable Ajiaco start off the string of lunch items.

But the highlight was the Fajita and Taco Station. Mighty tasty and deceptively filling.

Potato with Pimientos. Can’t go wrong there. However, the Plantains in Orange Cinnamon Sauce was a shocker. As if Plantain needed to taste any better. It was a nice piece of sweet to contrast with the earthy flavors around it.

Sauteed Vegetables were next to another first… The Google search inspiring Congri Rice. Basically Black Beans and Rice, but full of Cuban flavor.

Almond Chicken made an appearance. Niceness for the non-meat eaters.

And real Chicken with Pigeon Peas for the opposite of the previous experience.

This dish was labeled Lamb Leg in Pepper Tamarind Sauce. It should have been labeled Some of the Tastiest Lamb Ever! Really good.

More Fish. This time smothered in a Mango Coconut Sauce for a little tropical twist.

After all that, there was dessert for those so inclined. It’s like they go wild with dessert at KRAVE right tru! Egg-less Chocolate Cheese Cake…

Some very elegant Bread Pudding…

Passion Fruit Panna Cotta

A beauty of  a Cheesecake…

Pineapple Upside Down bites and more! Tempting morsels of niceness. This might be a good time to remind that this is buffet style. You can have one or all of these things. What’s not to love about that?

Once again, a great experience that was well worth the drive. Check out ONE of my plates above. Meat overload. And we didn’t even talk about all the smoking cocktails (no literally, it was smoking. Check the video below), the complimentary Tequila shots and live music. Good times. Click here to see the other events you can get into if you want to join the celebrations. But for now KRAVE, may your buffets be bountiful and your drinks ever flowing. Best wishes only on your 2nd Anniversary from Eatahfood!
