Rustic French Fries

Ingredients

  • 3 large potatoes washed
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • 6 cups water
  • 750 ml canola oil
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp roasted geera

Instructions

  • Cut fries to desired size and set aside in a bowl of water
  • Bring 6 cups of water to a rolling boil
  • Add baking soda then add potato and boil for 3 to 4 minutes
  • Remove from water and allow to cool on a rack or tray (you can place them in the freezer as well)
  • Combine salt, black pepper, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder and roasted geera in a bowl then set aside
  • Bring oil up to temperature (350 degrees)  in a deep frying pan
  • Fry fries for 4 to 5 minutes or until golden brown
  • Drain excess oil then place in a bowl lined with paper towels
  • Sprinkle seasoning on fries while still hot and toss
  • Serve & Enjoy
