Oats & Flaxseed Bread

Try this easy oats & flaxseed bread recipe for a nutritious and delicious loaf packed with flavor and texture.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup old fashioned oats
  • ½ cup golden flaxseed
  • 2 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • cup olive oil

Instructions

  • Use spice grinder to grind oats and flaxseed into a powder
  • Combine dry ingredients, mix thoroughly
  • Add water and oil then mix in bowl until a ball of dough is formed
  • Turn dough out on to a floured surface then knead for 8 to 10 minutes
  • Cover dough with a damp kitchen towel and allow to prove for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until doubled in size
  • Punch air out of dough then flatten into a rectangular shape approx 1/2 inch thick
  • Tuck and roll dough unto itself
  • Place into a greased baking pan
  • Brush dough with water and apply whole oats and flaxseed to the top
  • Cover with a damp kitchen towel and allow to prove for 30 minutes
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 25 minutes
  • All bread to cool before enjoying
